Upon completion of Working Alone Safely in British Columbia, participants will be able to:
- Define ‘working alone or in isolation’
- Recognize that BC is one of only five provinces that have legislation which specifically addresses ‘working alone or in isolation’
- Identify the OHS responsibilities of BC employers when employees work alone or in isolation
- Identify the BC OHS requirements pertaining to ‘ working alone in late night retail premises’
- Describe the elements of an effective check-in procedure
- Describe practical safety measures that can be implemented to reduce the risks associated with:
- Working with cash and other valuables
- Working alone in isolated circumstances
- Meeting clients alone at off-site locations
- Travelling alone
- Working alone with hazardous substances

Assessment
At the end of the course, there is a multiple-choice test. Participants that do not achieve 100% can review the module content and try as many times as necessary to complete the course. Test questions are randomly selected from a test bank, making each test unique.
